ATATÜRK OLYMPIC STADIUM / STAY CABLE / PT / HEAVY LIFTING / İSTANBUL

Description of the Work:
With its bold architecture, the Atatürk Stadium was a major challenge for its builders. Designed by the two architects
responsible for the Stade de France, Michel Macary and Aymeric Zublena, the edifice is semi-buried, with the field and
the tracks lying 12 m below the level of the main platform. The building’s geometry, with a pronounced curve, is highly
complex. As for the metal frame, called a “construction site”, it supports two roof structures of differing design, one
weighing 3300 ton and the other 1200 which have particularly narrow tolerances. Finally, the strands rise 50 m above
the field.

Freysaş Mission:
Freysaş was in charge of supply and installation of the tensioning for the structure and the stay cables supporting the
roof.
