Dar Es Salaam - Railway Project

"Nkrumah Bridge” - one of the most outstanding engineering structures in TANZANIA

Freysaş’ scope of responsibility in Dar Es Salaam-Morogoro Railway Project include the construction of four cast-in-place bridges, one of which is a cable-stayed saddle bridge, with all four located in the Tanzanian region of Dar Es Salaam-Morogoro, and also the manufacture of 830 post-tensioned precast beams incl. post-tensioned cap beams.

Beam lengths to be manufactured  are 24.8 m, 21.05 m and 19.25 m, respectively. These manufactures will be carried out in three separate sites, namely Ilala, Soga and Ngerengere.

When completed, Nkrumah Bridge, which is currently under construction as one of Tanzania’s most important engineering structures located on the most active land routes of the city, extending between the airport and tourist centers, will definitely become a structure of high significance not only in terms of planning, but also aesthetics.

The long spans will be solved by post-tensioning applications in the bridge floors of Kigogo, Msimbazi and Nelson Mandela Bridges, so that these constructions can be completed without causing any adverse impact on the active land routes of the city.
