Balanced Cantilever Bridge / Post-tensioning Method
The balanced cantilever method is one of the widely used bridge construction methods to pass longer spans all around the world. The deck can be constructed cast-in-place or using precast segments. In cast-in-place option, deck is constructed using form traveler equipment. This method is especially preferred where the standard formwork/scaffolding systems cannot be used due to topographical issues. In the precast segmental option, deck segments are produced separately and then installed to their fnal positions using special equipment. Since the segments can be produced and stocked, deck can be completed quickly with high quality.
